What to Expect

Below are a number of questions people often ask concerning our Sunday worship experience. If your question is not answered here, please feel free to ask us, and someone will get back to you with a response.

What time is worship?

9:30 am. There is no Nursery care at this time.

Where are you located?

Our address is 1245 W. Maple Ave in Adrian, Michigan.

What should I wear?

To be honest, we’re more concerned with making you feel welcomed than we are with what you look like. We see it all: jeans, suits, coat & tie, casual, heels, sandals, shorts, pants, and dresses. Wear whatever you’re most comfortable wearing. In other words, come as you are.

How long does worship last?

At this time during the coronavirus pandemic, services typically last 40 minutes.

What kind of music does your church have?

We have a vocal choir that sings weekly throughout the school year. Special music is provided some Sundays during the summer.

Am I welcomed if I’m not the “typical Christian”?

You certainly are! Again, we don’t care what you look like. If you have questions about the Christian faith or are even a card-carrying doubter, you’re welcomed here. The United Methodist motto is Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors. For us, this is much more than just a marketing tag line. Our congregation strives to respect and welcome all people. No matter what.

If I want to be baptized, what do I do?

This is a great question! We would love to help you take this important step in your faith journey. The first thing you should do is to talk with Rev. Alice (pastor@adrianfumc.org), who would be more than happy to walk you through the process.

While a majority of our baptisms are done by ‘sprinkling,’ (literally, sprinkling water on one’s head with the hand), for those who desire, we can also make arrangements to baptize through full immersion.
