Handling of Funeral and Memorial Services During our Suspension of Church Activities
Per the strong recommendation of Elizabeth Hill, our district superintendent, during the period of time we are suspending worship services and church activities, in the event a church member passes away we will follow the following protocol in regard to holding funerals and memorial services.
- We will work with the funeral home and discuss what their suggestions may be for planning a service.
- It is our perspective that for everyone’s well-being, it is best for the family to hold an intimate funeral/memorial service or graveside service/interment in which only a small number of people will gather together.
- Meals will not be held at the church.
- Once the official limitations on gatherings is lifted, a memorial service and, if desired, a luncheon, can be set.
